This is also an old August shoot that hadn't gotten blogged and I'm trying to catch up so bear with me. I shoot at least two families a day and I cannot blog that much ;)
Although I do try to get natural smiles and a full range of expression in my shoots, most of the time my favorite pictures are of children with solemn expressions. I think you can see their feature (particularly lips) a lot better when they are still and a thoughtful/wistful/curious face is just as true of an expression as a joyful one. I really like this picture of Kayla.
